Rohingya Refugee Camps, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh

In March, 2021, a massive fire that broke out in the refugee camps resulting in the loss of dozens of lives, displacing 45,000 Rohingya refugees, and causing significant damage to the world’s largest refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.

In March, 2023, there was another massive fire that displaced an estimated 12,000 Rohingya refugees in Balukhali refugee camp, Cox’s Bazar.

We supported more than 1,000 Rohingya refugees providing food, clothes, kitchen kits and shelter kits aftermath of the incident.

Sittwe IDP Camps, Rakhine State, Myanmar

In May, 2023, a powerful cyclone Mocha hit Myanmar and Bangladesh. The worst of the devastation was in Rakhine State, Myanmar. An estimated 100,000 Rohingya were affected by the disaster which killed more than 400 people in Sittwe.

The Myanmar military was widely criticized for isolating the Rohingya in the cyclone. The military banned the humanitarian agencies from accessing the affected people in the IDP camps in Sittwe. We supported more than 5,000 affected Rohingya people in the IDP camps by providing food, clothing, and shelter kits.
